LeBron James will be the top free agent available next season. This year’s free agency isn’t over yet but the oddsmakers, just like the teams in the NBA, are already looking ahead to next summer. Where will LeBron play in 2018-19?

BetOnline lists Cleveland (+250) as the favorite. That seems generous given the current state of the team and the Kyrie Irving situation, plus the truth that the Cavs, as currently constructed, were no match for the Warriors.

Lakers (+275) are expected to be an aggressive player in free agency next summer. L.A. already cleared cap space by sending Timofey Mozgov and D’Angelo Russell to the Nets. LeBron has a home in Los Angeles so making the transition to Hollywood would be easy.

Could Boston (+700) land a star in back-to-back summers? LeBron called Gregg Popovich “the greatest coach of all time.” Is that enough to make the King join the Spurs (+1000)? Maybe the 4-time MVP will take his talents to another team in Texas. The Rockets (+1000) already acquired banana-boat buddy Chris Paul who LeBron has wanted to play with.

There are many dark horse candidates as well. The doomsday scenario for the NBA would be LeBron joining the Warriors. Golden State (+2800) found a way to add Kevin Durant, I think they would make room for LeBron too.

If you aren’t sure where LeBron will play next season, don’t worry. This will be a topic of discussion for the next year.
