Expectations in the Southeastern Conference are sky-high. Coaches can find themselves on the hot seat if their teams don’t perform. It doesn’t take much for a fan base or an athletic director to turn on a coach. Who will be the 1st coach fired in the SEC?

The hottest seat of them all? Apparently Butch Jones (+175) is the most likely coach fired first even though Tennessee is 2-0 and ranked in the top 25. A win against No. 24 Florida on Saturday should buy Jones more time in Knoxville.

Texas A&M blew a 34-point lead to UCLA in Week 1 and then were tied with an FCS team after three quarters last Saturday. It’s hard to win a game and be in a worse spot but that is where Kevin Sumlin (+250) finds himself. An A&M regent has already called for Sumlin’s dismissal.

A coach whose odds have changed the most since the preseason is Jim McElwain (+800). Florida has won the SEC East two straight years but the pressure is mounting on McElwain. Offense continues to be a problem as the Gators look for the first win of the season Saturday.

Which coach is the safest? Saban (+25000) of course. Four national championships is great job security.
