Not much was expected of the Chicago Bulls before the playoffs started. Fred Hoiberg’s team was +30000 to win the title and +500 to win the opening series against the No. 1 seed Celtics. Yet, after a .500 season the Bulls have surprised the basketball world and Boston by taking a 2-0 series lead.
The Bulls are +220 (Sportsbook) to sweep the Celtics. Per ESPN’s BPI Chicago has a 33% chance of bouncing Boston from the playoffs after just four games. Chicago is a 2-point favorite at home on Friday. If everything goes right the Bulls will look for the sweep on Sunday.
If that happens, Chicago has an ace up their sleeve (or jersey). Sunday’s game will be played on TNT. The Bulls have won 20 straight regular-season home games on TNT. What does a regular season streak involving a television network have to do with a playoff game? Not much but sports are entertainment and this piece is for fun!
Anyways, the Bulls like playing on TNT so much that they won Game 2 while being broadcast on the network. So technically the team’s streak on TNT is at 21 straight. During their run the Bulls are +23.68 units on the moneyline and have gone 18-3 against-the-spread.
In no way does this mean that Chicago is going to win and cover Game 4 but if you ask Twitter, the #TNTBulls are legit. On Sunday we will get another chance to see the TNT Bulls in action. I might bet the game but only if there is a Pro System in play.
