On Thursday, the NBA announced the five-game schedule for Christmas Day. This holiday tradition features the league’s biggest stars. The festivities begin with the Knicks hosting the up and coming Sixers. Then the Wizards head to Boston to play the rival Celtics. We get an MVP showdown with Harden and Westbrook before the Wolves and Lakers close out the action. The most exciting game is a Finals rematch between the Warriors-Cavs.
The game will be played in the Oracle Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
Cleveland beat Golden State last year on Christmas when Kyrie Irving made a clutch basket with Klay Thompson defending.
The Warriors will be looking to return the favor when the teams meet for a third consecutive season on the holiday. There are no lines for this star-studded slate but remember these betting trends for Warriors-Cavs on Christmas.
Note: trends are since 2005.
- Defending champions are 4-7 straight-up, 3-8 ATS
- The runner-up is 5-6 straight-up, 6-5 ATS
- In rematches, the reigning champion is 3-3 straight-up, 2-4 ATS
Cleveland has been the better bet when Santa comes to town, will this trend continue?
|Golden State Warriors||3-3||1-5|
Players get up for these primetime games. There is almost a playoff atmosphere with many matchups. As such, the pace of play slows, defensive intensity increases and the UNDER has been profitable. Since 2005, the UNDER on Christmas is 32-18-1.
