If you are reading this, then you are likely still alive for Week 8 of your Survivor Pool. I was able to advance with the Broncos shutting down Brock Osweiler and the Texans in Week 7. Congratulations on making it this far, but unfortunately the options don’t look plentiful this week:
This is normally the time where I would lay out all the options, and then use game theory to find a final solution. This just isn’t one of those weeks. There is a clear choice this week and I’m not going to try to get cure and go somewhere else.
The Pick: Minnesota Vikings (at Chicago)
I’m not a big fan of taking teams on the road, and I’m not a big fan of taking divisional rivals, but not left with a lot of options here. The betting market currently suggests the Patriots as a viable option as 6.5 point favorites, but the simulation has been a big fan of the Bills all season and disagrees with the market this week. The Vikings are currently the most popular pick on ESPN’s Eliminator Challenge but just going to have to bite the bullet and go with the public this week.
Future picks likely to change:
Week 9: Cowboys (at Browns)
Week 10: Ravens (vs Browns)
Week 11: Raiders (vs Texans)
Week 12: Bills (vs Jaguars)
Week 13: Patriots (vs Rams)
Week 14: Eagles (vs Redskins)
Week 15: Seahawks (vs Rams)
Week 16: Chargers (at Browns)
Week 17: Steelers (vs Browns)
