The season hasn’t even started and some coaches are on the hot seat. When a team performs poorly it’s not the players that get canned. Which NFL head coach will be the first fired this season?
The favorite on the chopping block is Todd Bowles (+500). The Jets head man won ten games in his first season but followed that strong performance with a 5-11 campaign. Five of Gang Green’s first eight opponents are playoff teams from last year. A bad start could have Bowles out of the Big Apple before the end of October.
Other top contenders include Hue Jackson (+525), John Fox (+825), Jim Caldwell (+1050) and Chuck Pagano (+1050).
Bill O’Brien is +1200 to get the axe. He has the best odds to be let go of any coach that reached the postseason last year. Pretty rough for a guy that has led his team to back-to-back division titles.

There are five first-time head coaches in the NFL this year. The Bills Sean McDermott (+2700) has the best odds of the bunch to be fired but with a five-year contract it would be expensive for Buffalo to move on from their new hire.
Feeling frisky? You could wager that Bill Belichick (+50000) is the first coach dismissed. The prop bets counts if a coach retires. Maybe Belichick will pull a Barry Sanders and surprisingly quit football. The five-time Super Bowl champion has longer odds to be fired than Daenerys Targaryen does of dying in Season 7 of Game of Thrones and she has three dragons!
