Biggest Money-line Upsets
76ers (+472) at Nuggets
Joel Embiid returned after missing one game to score 23 points, Eran Ilyasova had a career-high 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Sixers held on to beat the Nuggets 124-122. It was just the team’s third win away from home.
Suns (+321) vs. Raptors
The Suns topped the Raptors 99-91 on the second night of a back-to-back. Eric Bledsoe scored 22 points and Devin Booker added 19 points. This was the second time Phoenix has won back-to-back home games.
Heat (+310) at Kings
— Miami HEAT (@MiamiHEAT) January 5, 2017
Miami snapped a six game losing streak by beating the Kings 107-102. Tyler Johnson led the way scoring 23 points. This was the sixth straight win by the Heat over Sacramento.
No, that isn’t an AND1 Mixtape. Timberwolves rookie Kris Dunn pulled the trick out during an actual NBA game. The sick move resulted in an assist as teammate Gorgui Dieng made the ensuing jumper.
The Lakers lost to the Warriors 109-88 on Tuesday night, which isn’t a surprise. However, an L.A. fan wasn’t pleased by the performance during the game and switched allegiances in-game. Fair or foul?
Trend Highlight: Fading Tired Home Teams
The NBA has taken steps to reduce the number of back-to-back games and 3-in-4 nights. However, teams still have stretches in their schedules where they play a bunch of games in consecutive nights. This Pro System takes advantage of that fact and looks to optimize the winning percentage by focusing on visiting teams (historically undervalued) playing home teams that have had a lot of games recently.
This Pro System “Fading Tired Home Teams” is 426-330 (56%) ATS all-time
A game that matched this system in the last week was Knicks at Rockets. Houston had played at least three games in the last five days and were 12.5 point favorites over the .500 Knicks. However, New York managed to keep to close and get the cover losing 129-122.
