There is incredible power in understanding how teams, players, leagues and markets have reacted to various scenarios. Using Bet Labs massive database of proprietary sports betting information you can easily build and explore data-driven betting systems.
Each week we will provide trends for the top ten teams in college football. Some trends will be team specific and others situational. Our database goes back to 2005, the trends include all games in that time frame unless otherwise mentioned.
No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 15 Florida
Alabama and Florida will meet in the SEC Championship game once again. The two programs have squared off nine times in the conference title game with Bama winning three of the last four contests.
No. 3 Clemson vs. Virginia Tech
A College Football Playoff spot is within the Tigers’ reach. A victory against the Hokies gives Clemson the ACC title and clinches a playoff berth. An upset by VaTech would open the door for one of the many two-loss teams trying to crash the postseason party.
No. 4 Washington vs. No. 9 Colorado
Washington and Colorado will play for the Pac-12 Championship on Friday. Both programs have experienced great turnarounds. Combined the Huskies and Buffs were 5-13 in conference play last year, each squad went 8-1 in Pac-12 play in 2016. Washington has a chance to represent the Pac-12 in the four-team tournament if the Huskies can top Colorado.
No. 6 Wisconsin vs. No. 8 Penn State
This is not the Big Ten Championship game many expected before the season began. Penn State and Wisconsin are surprise participants but both still have playoff aspirations. The winner of this game could give the selection committee headaches.
No. 7 Oklahoma vs. No. 11 Oklahoma State
For the second straight year Bedlam is a winner-take-all battle for the Big 12 Championship. Unfortunately for the Sooners and Cowboys anything short of complete chaos on Saturday means winning the conference title likely won’t be enough to reach the playoff.
No. 13 Western Michigan vs. Ohio
Are you ready for some #MACtion? Western Michigan puts its undefeated season on the line against Ohio Friday in the MAC Championship. The Broncos can row its boat to a New Year’s Six bowl with a win.
No. 14 West Virginia vs. Baylor
WVU is looking for its first ten-win season since joining the Big 12. The Bears have lost five straight and can’t wait for the season to end.
No. 20 Navy vs. Temple
The Midshipmen and the Owls will meet in Annapolis for the American Athletic Conference Championship. Navy has won four straight and scored 60+ points in back-to-back games for the first time since 1917. Temple has won six straight heading into the AAC title game.
There is a Pro System trend for this game that is 190-144 (57%) ATS
