The road to the Final Four starts Friday. Twenty-one of the teams ranked in the preseason Top 25 will be in action on the first day of the 2017-18 college basketball season. Twelfth-ranked Cincinnati gets it started with a 12pm ET tip-off against Savannah State. It’s not quite March but you can feel the madness in the air. As you start handicapping the first games of the season here are 3 college basketball Pro Systems every bettor should follow.
Betting the UNDER on High Totals
Betting the Under in high total games is pretty self-explanatory. It is easier for a game to go under its total if oddsmakers set a high line. What makes this Pro System (240-165-7, 59.3% since 2005) unique is that it bets against the public. When squares are on the Over in high total games (based on number of tickets), it has been profitable to bet the Under.
Going Contrarian on Saturdays
Many of the best college basketball betting systems fade the public. Games on Saturday featuring teams from the power conferences attract the squarest action. Contrarian bettors should target these highly bet games and wager on teams getting little public support. Since 2005, this Pro System is 275-189-16 (59.3%) ATS, +73.74 units.
The percentage of spread tickets on a game is becoming common knowledge. Bettors can access that information for free from Sports Insights but what is only available to Bet Labs’ users is the percentage of spread dollars on a game. We only have two years of data but the early results have been promising when a majority of money is on one team but spread tickets favor the other side. Teams with a positive money-to-ticket ratio have gone 68-39-2 (63.6%) ATS.
