No. 25 LSU lost 24-21 to Troy, turnovers (4) were the Tigers downfall. The Trojans are the first team outside the SEC to win in Death Valley since 2000.

Maryland (+426) at Minnesota

Ty Johnson ran for a 34-yard touchdown with 1:10 to play to give Maryland the upset over Minnesota 31-24. Third-string quarterback Max Bortenschlager threw two touchdowns and ran for another.

North Texas (+242) at Southern Miss

Mean Green trailed 21-7 before scoring 26 straight points in the second and third quarters. North Texas was as an underdog despite losing the turnover battle 0-2.

Washington State (+166) vs. USC

Washington State had lost 15 straight home games against ranked opponents. The Cougars ended the streak beating No. 5 USC 30-27. Luke Falk threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns while his counterpart, preseason Heisman favorite Sam Darnold passed for 164 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.
