The best part of the Super Bowl is the prop bets. Like the Patriots wild 34-28 comeback against the Falcons there were many surprising proposition wagers that cashed. Here are the ten most profitable Super Bowl 51 prop bets.

Over 2.5 players to attempt a pass: Yes +175

Trailing 28-3 in the 3rd quarter, the Patriots tried to get something going with a trick play. The double-pass from Tom Brady to Julian Edelman to Dion Lewis failed but cashed for bettors that thought there would be another player besides Brady and Matt Ryan that attempted a pass.

Lady Gaga halftime, first song ‘field’ +175

Lady Gaga kicked off her Super Bowl 51 halftime performance by singing “God Bless America.” The ‘field’ was the favorite for the first song to be sung.

Defensive or special teams touchdown: Yes +180

Robert Alford took a Brady pass 82 yards for a pick-six. With Atlanta leading 21-0 it looked like the rout was on.

Sack happening before Touchdown: +190

In a game with the highest Super Bowl total ever, it’s not surprising that a touchdown happening before a sack was favored. However, four sacks occurred before the first score of the game and ten total.

Will there be a missed extra point: Yes +250

There hadn’t been a missed extra point in the Super Bowl since 1990. After the #Patriots finally scored their first touchdown of the game Stephen Gostkowski dinked the extra point off the upright.

First penalty of game: Holding +350

The first penalty of the game occurred on the opening possession after the Patriots were forced to punt following a 3-and-out. The Falcons were called for holding on their punt return. ‘False start’ was the 13/5 favorite to be the first penalty called.

Will the Super Bowl passing record be broken: Yes +400

Kurt Warner set the Super Bowl record for most passing yards throwing for 414 yards against the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV. Brady smashed that mark racking up 466 passing yards in the Patriots comeback.

First player to score a touchdown: Devonta Freeman +800

Freeman got the scoring started rushing for a 5-yard touchdown early in the 2nd quarter.

Will there be overtime: Yes +1000

It had never happened before but 19 unanswered points by the Patriots in the fourth quarter forced the first ever overtime in Super Bowl history.

First player to commit a turnover: LeGarrette Blount +1600

It was the first of two turnovers for New England; in the end the Patriots were able to overcome the mistake but Blount’s fumble was a nice payday for bettors.
